Zoey - Protect endangered species - t-shirt
Zoey is a Vancouver Island marmot and can be found perambulating in small patches of south and west-facing sub-alpine and alpine meadows on the island. Zoey is a member of the squirrel family. They are herbivores and are listed as endangered due to habitat loss and degradation and continual low population numbers.
They can live up to 10 years in the wild, they live in family groups called colonies, hibernate in the winter, and have five distinct whistles/trills—more than any other marmot!
They are one of the rarest mammals in the world, and are the only Canadian-specific marmot.
Our MLAs are fighting for legislation to protect endangered species like Zoey.
